Gothic Country

Gothic country blends traditional country, folk and Americana with darker themes of death, isolation, violence, faith and the supernatural. Often called Southern Gothic or dark country, it draws on old murder ballads, Appalachian music, blues and outlaw country. Acoustic guitars, banjos and stark vocals give the genre a haunting, rural sound where beautiful melodies meet unsettling stories.
